The King’s Head in Chitterne is a historic village pub serving great food, local drinks and warm hospitality in the heart of Wiltshire.
After years of closure, the pub was brought back to life thanks to extraordinary local effort: the Chitterne Community Benefit Society launched a fundraising campaign, raised more than £300,000 and purchased the pub in late 2024 to secure its future for generations.
Reopened in June 2025, The King’s Head now thrives under the warm, family‑run leadership of Jo and Nick White, experienced publicans known for their passion for great hospitality and hearty, honest food. Villagers, walkers, cyclists, Stonehenge visitors and travellers from far beyond now gather here to enjoy good company, real ales and dishes full of flavour and character.
Inside, you’ll find a welcoming bar, cosy dining areas, a roaring fire in winter and a friendly atmosphere shaped by the community that saved it.
